Perfect Shoe

Finding the perfect shoes for the wedding day is soooooo hardddd.... specially if you are thinking of a specific color like teal (tiffany's blue) which is really very hard to find...

I thought of having my shoes customized thinking it was cheaper since we are working on a tight budget... but it costs a fortune... S$150... crazy right? and I have to provide fabric for my customized shoes and it would take 4 - 6 weeks before I can get my hands on it... so I kept bugging Lui to come with me to search for my perfect shoes since it is GSS as well... and it gives me an excuse to do some window shopping as well. ;)

Luckily for me this season is summer season where pastel colors are in.... and I found my shoes :)

But I wanted to make my shoes to be different... unique from the other shoes...
so I have put a special touch on my wedding shoes... to make it personalized and my own... Are you ready to see what I did?

DIY maths & invitation seals

The seal means Double Happiness
To check how many wax sticks we need for our invitation seal, I took the time to test on the gold stick.

Four odd hours later, I finished the remaining red and silver sticks. Based on averages, a stick can create 14-19 seals.

At 200+ invitations, we need about 16 sticks and 21+ hours!

What did we get into?

I Love you 5eva!

Our final date isn't the best date that we had before.... ;) did you know we have another church booked for a different day for this year? here's the original date together with a very sentimental gift from Mr Lee =p

There's a touch of Louis' inside jokes during the period he gave me his sentimental gift....

Who would thought a toughie guy would fall to a little girl like me ;) here's to 5eva Louis! :)

PS: There will be more surprises to come ;)

Soundcheck

I'm not familiar with fair use & copyright laws in the Philippines. As we're picking some songs for our video, the song of this band shuffled its way and we had a "this is it!" moment. We rarely see wedding videos using original Filipino music so I checked the lead singer's Facebook page and messaged him about using it. He gave us the go signal!

Now that's out of the way, we need to conceptualize our video around this song.

Sorry, we can't reveal too much info about our music choices. We want the songs to be a surprise for our families and friends. :-)

The Missing Links

Having a wedding on a non-peak day has its advantages; we can decide on suppliers more thoroughly because there are a lot of choices. But we're getting worried on two suppliers we have yet to book: our videographer and OTD coordinators.

We are 90% sure on the suppliers and just ironing out the details. Since we're not in Manila, online presence of a supplier is very important to us. We based most of our bookings if they're easy to communicate with.

We're waiting for one more email and we'll update the links on the right. Hopefully, the non-peak advantage is still on our favor.

Update 9:55PM: On-the-Day coordinator, Kiss the Girl Events, is booked. :)

Without You

The Piano Guys' cover of Without You by David Guetta is just... awesome.

The Morning Rush "bribe"

Not sure if Chico and Del got our package but here's our gift to our hosts-to-be since they don't do "reservation fees." Packaged by my awesome mom and delivered at the Monster Radio office in Ortigas.

Save the Date

We started sending out the save the date to the people we're inviting for the wedding. Although not required, it's important to send out the invitation for our friends living overseas. And lucky for us, airlines are having their promo sales right now. Our friends can book tickets for as low as S$40 per flight.

With the save the date out of the way, we've finally decided on a theme. We thought the colors would already carry the direction but suppliers are always asking for our "theme." We were trying to go for "Old Hollywood" but my brother helped us in settling for "Journey" (not the "Don't Stop Believin'" kind).

Food Tasting

We did our food tasting at Sofitel with the help of Vigie Sales-Salvador. Also in attendance were Liz' two sisters and my mom. Following Chinese traditions, our food will be a ten-course lauriat menu. Peter Yeung, the executive chef pictured on the left, was a character. I was not familiar with most of the dishes that was served but the way he explained how he did it was like having our own Iron Chef judging panel.

There are still some dishes we're thinking of replacing. We have until July to decide if the soup and rice will be replaced by something else.

This was one of my favorite dishes:
